On a rough basis how does this position look?
Sorry, I can’t get a photo.
I can see it, but am not really qualified to give advice.
I can email a jpeg to someone who can host the pic…
That would be great, however I dont know how to post a pic.
CerveloGuy can you help?
Thanks-
Dude is that the Kona coast? Very nice bike…
“CerveloGuy can you help?”
I’m completely computer stupid at this. Haven’t got a clue how to post photos. The guy to ask is Hid
you need you have some web hosting space to post a pic…
Ahh, you are just asking so you can sport your sweet P3, huh.
Other than that I use an angle finder for my personal fitting, my eyes always decieve me. That being said, your position is better than quite a few I see at races.
Roughly? Do you feel like your seat is too low?
It might be a bit low, it is hard to say from the position of my feet in this pic?
I tried to post the pic for you but could not as I am new to this. Have HID do it for you, them possibly Tom D will look at your position. Your position looks pretty good to me…
It is hard to tell from the position of your feet, I’m simply making a WAG as to what they would look like at the bottom. Somehow, you just seem compressed more than I’d expect…that’s why I asked about feeling too low.
This isnot a good shot to make a judgement on - however it looks like your seat is too low and too far forward causing you to be too compressed. Your Right knee appears to be about 4-5 CM forward of pedal (again hard to judge). this is really too agressive and you may wan to get this refitted completely. Just my 2c worth. GGW
Seat is definately too low. It also appears that your hips are rotated too forward…which I’m guessing your seat is angled downward in front, correct? If so, you’ll definatley want that level or with a little rise.
It also likely that you’re a bit aggressive with your effective seat angle, but really depends on how you want to ride your bike.
Repost a pic when you have your seat height adjusted and we’ll figure out the front end problems afterwards…

Hi FlyTri,
Your armpad to hand position looks reasonable. Your elbow appears to be behind your shoulder and less than a 90 degree angle torso to upper arm, indicating maybe your sitting position to the aero bars is a little short. But, notice you appear to not be fully on the seat and well forward. Not enough visual information to evaluate seat height, seat tilt, cleat position, aerobar height vs seat height, effective hip angle. How does it feel? Comfortable? Fast? Does the bike handle well? Good run afterwards?
Hey flytri,
First off, congrats on being in the big one. Way to go!
Well, I can’t offer you much good info from this photo. It is shot when your posture is somewhat unusual with your head turned and at an odd phase of the pedal stroke.
Unfortunately, and I apologize for being the bearer of a potentially bad opinion- but:
You are a bit of a classic “P3 wrecker”. This is what I mean. Part of the reason to buy a P3 is because of the low head tube. A lot of retailers- and this is NOT the customer’s fault- sell the bike to people who are building up the head tube with steer tube spacers and stems that are angled up.
Not good. First off, the bike was designed low in the front end. So what if you don’t? Well, when you add that collection of spacers and that long, high stem you make the front end of the bike a triffle flexy- all that stuff is not as stiff in the front as if you just put a single 1 cm spacer and then a 90 degree stem about 100 mm long.
-So, you lose some of the bike’s performance in the front end by configuring it this way. A greater concern may be the handling. Notice that the center of your base bars nearly appears to be BEHIND your lower crown race on the head tube. I wager the handling on this bike is pretty excitable. In other words, I doubt you’ll be zipping down any descents with one hand on the aerobars and the other reaching for a bottle, not that anyone should try that anyway.
I’d like the set-up much better if the bars were lower, which may not be comfortable for your riding style and may actually slow you down.
Speaking only for myself and my own store, If I found out this was the position you would be riding in I would have sold you a bike with a higher head tube. I think you would have been happier with that- maybe a Guru or a Litespeed depending on your femur length and torso measurement.
It breaks my heart to see a P3 with a stack of spacers and a high-rise stem.
Please don’t be mean to me…
