Paging any locals for good run routes. My girlfriend is getting ready to run a BQT at Marine Corps Marathon and needs some run venues while we are in Louisville next week. Where are good places for an 8-10 mile tempo run and a 16ish mile long run. Appreciate the help.
I am sure someone else will chime in that lives in Louisville, but I will try to give you a little help. I lived there about 10 years ago and I spent a lot of time running in a big park system in the middle of town. Iwould start at seneca park and I think it was cherokee park that it hooks in to. If you run the different loops that they have marked out (used to have* *I think it was three different loops) You can cover any distance just by mixing and matching loops. I always thought it was a nice peaceful place to run. Golf course and park around you as you run for the most part. I tried to do a search for a map or info but I only found this link They have some different group training runs listed and have maps for where they start. If you get to the park a little exploring and you will figure it out. I hope this at least gets you/the GF started. Like I said some of the curent locals can give you a bunch more info I am sure. See you in Louisville. Mike
Agree with connecting seneca and cherokee parks. Lots of routes to view at mapmyrun.
