Had a blowout- at 32mph- this morning. Explosion then wobble, slid over road but managed to stray upright and get off the road. Had tube etc… but the tyre was ripped pretty badly, so used an empty Gu wrapper inside the tyre to get home and stop the tube popping through got me home for the final 5 miles to complete the 50mi ride… another good reason not to litter- the wrappers come in handy.

Glad to hear you didn’t go down. I’ve used a Power Bar wrapper before when a guy I was riding with ripped his tire. Worked well enough for him to ride back to the closest bike shop.

the good reason not to litter:
you don’t do it at home…and this planet is our home (I know, I know…freakin’ tree hugger…)
but thanks for the tip on the wrapper…a folded $1 works too btw.
Also, if you use a wrapper with gu in it, you can use the gu as seal sealant 
I tried that, but I’m not strong enough to bend a loonie.
