Another eBay auction to mock

Ok, here is another view. Let’s see if anyone sees it…

and it’s not just that there are no rear brakes…

wtf is up with the “stem spacer”?

I know!

Stuff built like this really scares me. There are so many frames out there that are built weird…

(older thread, but similar stupidity…)

That would come in real handy! You could tie a rope there and catch a tow!

Or you could put a long bar through it and put jeep roll bar lights on it.

SO OBVIOUS…

if the original handlebar height does not fit you, just insert another in the new, lower position and it will fit.

A new spin on the Meridia idea?

Oh my! Where’s my rear brake? Not exactly a safe idea for a rear freewheeled bike… But some people want the fixie vanity…

Any chance you can find a picture of that other bike, I’m having trouble remembering what we were laughing so hard about…and the ebay pic isn’t working anymore.

yeah, but… I ditched the R brake on my townie because it wouldn’t play nice w/ the fender. I’d rather have both, but for a commuter if one has to go it’s not the fender. Stops just fine w/ only the front brake (but then I’m rarely going more than about 18mph on that set-up, either).

Stem spacer looks absurd, but really, for a steel steerer, I can’t honestly think of a functional reason why not…

There weren’t any spacers under the stem…

maybe they had a basket or something mounted to the front.

i really liked those two:

The most frustrating part is that no matter how we mock these bikes on this forum, a setup similar to this in the hands of a phenomenal (ok, maybe even just average) athlete will probably pass me at my next race, as has been the case at every event I’ve done to date.
