Another Critique my bike fit post-Video

A little background: Bought the bike used before i even knew what fist was. Have had 2 non Fist fits, neither of which i felt were good after reading the articles and other posts by members. The current fit is what i’ve come up with on my own. The bike is the Medium size.
I haven’t taken all my body measurements but i believe i am more of a long leg, short torso type with some longer arms.
Bike is to be used for Half and full distances.

Tell me what ought to be done:

I believe your seat is a smidge too high, that you shouldn’t wear all black because you look like everyone else out on the course, and that’s a hideous painting above your television.

The whole house is hideous haha. I am house sitting (Living for free) for some other Marines until they get home.
These guys left milk in the fridge for 5 months, along with plenty of other goodies while we all were deployed, pretty amazing.

I’ll lower the seat a tad, thanks!

For aerodynamics, you may try a narrower elbow position and try elevating the hands a bit.

I don’t know…his shoulders look pretty tense and I think going norrower would exagerate it even more.

To the OP is it just the camera angle or does your left leg wobble a lot?

Something was getting pinched down there, so my trained response is to wiggle my left leg, yea. Also the trainer is on carpet so it wiggles a bit.
I used to have the bars real wide because my shoulders could not take being tight like on my old bike. I brought them in and played with the bars a lot to get them a bit more aero while still allowing me to breathe.

ETA: I tilted the bars up a tad and lowered the seat a tad. will post new video.

Thanks so far, it feels better already.

Good work - now go eat a cheeseburger. That'll make us all feel better! :)

You look relatively strong and comfortable in your position. Actually, those first couple of posts nailed both things that I saw.

I was in the “saddle too high” camp in the first video based on knee angle but also that your hips are rocking a fair bit. In the last video, your saddle is as low as I’d suggest. The thing is, your hips are still rocking.

The front view in terms of arms narrow enough etc looks good for a tri fit. Your whole body does the S thing, so much so that the trainer is following. I don’t know what’s going on there but it’s slightly odd. That said, we all have some mechanics that we compensate for.

While you haven’t had alot of time to try it out, does it feel better than all the previous attempts?

It does feel a bit better yes. The wrists feel a lot better and don’t feel tweaked, if it helped the aerodynamics a tiny bit that’s a win too i guess.
I’ll put the trainer on the tile and see if the rocking you’re talking about goes away. I think it’s just because of the carpet though, i’ll check it out.

Any other input?

I’ve seen a number of bike fit pictures and video(s) on this site some good and some not so good, alright awful. Your second/adjusted position video(s) look just about spot on in my naive opinion. I’d be inclined just ride it a while, not just trainer but real rides, and see how it feels. There is an old saying in my profession that applies here: the enemy of really, really f#$%ing good is perfection.
Just my two cents…

Your adjustments look good. Your seat may still be just a smidge high, but I wouldn’t stress it much.

One thing you could definitely use some work on is “turtling” your head. (Think of it as pushing your chin toward your hands.) Ideally, you want to get as much of your head as possible below the top of your shoulders (to decrease your frontal area). Your head is looking pretty much straight ahead. Work on having your face closer to a 45* angle and looking out of the top of your eyes to see where you are going.

Other than that, it looks really good.

Bike is not level to get right judgement on fit.
