Big thanks to Tom D. for staying several hours past closing time last night to do the final fit on my new ride. He also took the time to fashion six longer-than-standard bolts for my DMT shoes. With the exception of putting on some Conti 4-season tires, removing stickers, and adding different bottle cages, the F55 is one sweet, tricked out bike. Didn’t even need to change my seat for this AM’s century, I like the new one as much as the old one.
The lovely gray wall is that of my uncreative apartment building, and the grass needs watering, aerating, and fertilizer.
Must be a modern brick wall. If it was old you’d see the thumb prints from the guys that moved the bricks into the kiln. Every brick on our Inn (1918) has thumb prints!
Wow, thanks for the kind words. To the credit of the guys that work here we are often in hre very early and staying very late. It’s our pleasure to work on good equipment and take care of good customers.
Is it just me, or do those handlebars look like they’re rotated up a bit far? I know I keep seeing the high-lever thing on the pro bikes… Never could get comfy that way.
But that’s a sweet set-up. And always love a merchant that will go the extra mile like that.
That is one sweet ride. I’m planning on getting one myself in the next year or so. I can’t find a decent fitter around here and I work for a company in Detroit so I might just drive up sometime and give Tom my business.
Trust me it’s time well spent. I don’t think Tom would mind if I said that the chasm between a ‘normal’ Lbs and Bikesport knowledge and service I personally found was vast. I will be returning over again from the UK next year hopefully.
your bottles are not matching. total fashion don’t!
This is absolutely correct and crucial – You MUST get water bottle that match.
Accessorising tip – get water bottles in a complimentary color that matches your Jersey and socks - make sure your shoes either match the bike or are black.
Fiddlesticks. I thought they looked cool… (FYI: I did put matching cages on the bike last night
Fiddlesticks!?!!?!?!?
You selected matching wheels, matching waterbottle cages, matching seat, even the peddles match!!
Bar tape is perfect, tires match, seat post – no detail on the bike was overlooked!!
And then he sticks non-matching water bottles on the bike and you say fiddlesticks. – I thought for sure you would want matching water bottle to complete this work of Art.
It’s a wonderful red brick painted a hideous grey. Check out the bottom of the wall near the grassline, solid red brick.
The cages Tom hooked me up with are very cool. No logos and matte black like the bike. A very clean look. I switched the cages from my tri bike to this bike cause I like the Stryke cages by PD and put the black cages on my Minoura holder on the tri bike (which is also black). No fashion faux pas allowed in my stable.
The ride today was awesome. The bike doesn’t make me any faster, but what bike does? The ride however is unmatched by the Trek 2200 I was on. This F55 is simply smooth as silk on the road. Low vibration, sharp handling, and my position is spot on and powerful.
The seat is very nice too. The nose is longer than my old saddle, so I’m keeping this one on here. This gal is definitely going with me to IM Austria next year.
