Angle conversion? saddle position? Thoughts?

Please don’t flame me as I post my forward of the BB measurement. I just realized I’m WAY forward of the saddle tip. I just measured this for the first time. I’m 5.08cm in front of the BB. My stems are 130mm, I think. Could be a 120, though, I’m getting-old and can;t remember.

About 1.5 years ago I was fitted by the LBS, who did a great job, BTW. At that time my aerobars were at a drop of 17.5. We rasied the aerobars to a drop of about 10cm. This only raised my back about 2cm as I was curving my shoulders instead of flattening my back to reach the aerobars. Since then we have moved me more forward to lower my back without curving my shoulders and loosing hip angle. As I’ve moved forward the angle has stayed open and my back is much flatter, although not near as flat as some of you would like to see. I have many broken bones and compressed vertebra in my back, so my back has an arch to it in the aero position. I have very long legs (37") inseam and very long arms, with a very short torso, hence the 16cm drop without a dead flat back. Even at this position the Zipp 2001’s I have ride like a dream. No problems in handling at all. But I guess I’ve been riding them so low I don’t notice a twitchy ride.

So what angle does the 5.08cm compute to?

Thoughts…other then laughing please!!! : )

Really gotta ask - do you have any balls, or have they been squished beyond the point of recognition by now???

OK…I checked he chart…and I’m OFF of it. My saddle hieght is 87cm, the chart only goes to 83. Most cyclists must be built like short a** stumps!! : ) I figure I’m riding at about 85 degrees or so by taking the increases by comparison up to the 87cm.

AND…nope…never had a problem with the private parts…oh…and you can ask my wife about that…trust me…they’re there!!! Even with the seat at 5cm in front, I still sit on the nose, probably in the 88-90 degree range. The 85 is to a point in the saddle that I hardly ever use. I ride the Vision Tech saddle with tons of padding in the nose.
