And Now it Begins For The New Guy

The token burning of the infidel president’s image by the Iranians. Welcome President Obama to a screwed up world. I’m no Obama fan but that just really ticks me off.

I see that he is already backing off of most of his campaign promises. Plus we will still be in Iraq on January 22nd. How long can it be until the Angry Left demands his impeachment?

In all fairness a lot of things have changed and in a very big way since way-y-y-y-y-y back during the campaign. Any President Elect who didn’t back off on campaign promises in the light of this economic crisis has no business being President. I think most people understand that and nobody will be calling for his impeachment anytime soon. I think his approval ratings are at about 80%…that includes Republicans too. Not bad.

Above all else, the country needs him to do well right now. We are in deep, deep shit. Now if he can do that, then lose the next election to Romney, that would be perfect.

You are a comedic genius.

then lose the next election to Romney

One can hope.

No worries; it’s probably just a big sheet.

“I think his approval ratings are at about 80%.”

Not for nothing but,…it’s pretty easy to have high approval ratings when you haven’t had time to actually do anything yet.

Iranian burning-stuff technology sure has come a long way since the days of crudely painted American flags.

Clearly a doctored photo. We all know that the world loves us now that Obama has been elected.

If Obama does literally nothing for the next 4 years, the patient will live. Bush had only a slight training in quackery and tried to perform brain surgery on our country.

I only wish Bush had done nothing.

BTW, they are burning American flags next to Israeli flags all over the world right now.

I wouldn’t compare his administration-building and economic efforts to the actual business of a sitting president, but I wouldn’t exactly say he’s done nothing, either.

If his tenure as president enjoys the same level of efficiency and inclusion that his transition has, I think we’ll be in a much better place for it.

Side note: President Bush also has an approval rating of 80% in Africa, as well he should.

He has selected a cabinet and laid out an economic recovery plan. I think people are very happy with what they have seen so far.

(pink) he knocked my socks off when he started selecting his cabinet. i can already tell he is a president that gets things done. (/pink)

It’s going to be a tough time for no matter who was elected president. I personally thought Obama was your best choice, so let’s give the guy a chance. He’s not even in office yet. His first “foreign” trip is to Canada. He’ll be very popular up here at least.

I just spent a week in Chile and Argentina and they LOVE Obama there. Someone in Chile actually told me that they have more hope for their own country with Obama as President.
Only time will tell. I can’t imagine anyone of either party that would really want to be President right now. What a fucking mess!

In light of that, do you think maybe we should redo the election?

Am I the only one that finds it screwy that we track the approval rating of a politician before his first day in office? Yes, I know he’s been busy picking out his administration, but none of them have started their first day in office yet either. The bottom line is that we have no concrete knowledge yet of what Obama or his administration will actually do, much less what the effects will be.

That is just outright embarrassing. However, tt has to be noted that these kinds of reactions serve more as attempts to slap the face of those in Iran who are keen on Obama. These are the same group of brainwashed extremists who burned images of Khatami when he got elected, and will most probably do the same if he gets elected again in the upcoming election. I think this only indicates that the fundamentalists are threatened by Obama’s positive image within the country.
