OK, so it’s a really slow night, kids and wife have packed it in, etc., and the brewing catfight between ironclm and iron3fit hasn’t yet evolved into a smack-down or elicited any hottie catfight pics.

I’m relatively new to this joint, so out of curiosity I find my way to the very first page of the Slowtwitch Forum, page 3462, to see the genesis of this world, circa December 2002. I expected to see some flowing language about the firmament and Slowman creating the heaven and the earth, etc. Instead, there’s a short pitch saying, “Gee, I hope this works out,” followed by familiar posts the titles of which disclaim any relation to Powercranks and Cervelo. The more things change… Same regulars you see on pages 1-3 on any given day.

Just got to wondering if the ST forum sprang up that day from nowhere, or whether it had moved from another locale to here? Seems like the core and initial folks had known each other for some time before they got to typing here…

It used to be called Fasttwitch and Slowman was called Fastman but things change. That was when Paulo thought less was more. But then Dan had an epiphany and discovered slow was better than fast.

Now we have Slowtwitch and More is MORE™ and Slowman.

Was that back on the old style forum?

When first getting into tri I used to hang out on the old rec.triathlon newsgroup where they trolled, flammed and slammed any newbie who dared muster up the courage to ask about wet suits, seat angles, etc.

Then I discovered this place. 10.000+ posts later, most of them some sort of repetition of previous posts, well, at least Dan hasn’t kicked me off yet.:slight_smile:
