An Apology

It has been brought to my attention that, I may have gone too far recently in regard to expressing my feelings towards AG triathletes. That I may have gone over a line of some sort. For this I do apologize.

I will no longer laugh at the guy doing the flying CX mount and then realizing too late that he has two bottles in the rear cages.

I will no longer wonder about the people riding super aerobikes and sitting bolt upright on them for most of the bike ride.

I will no longer question the merits of compression socks.

I will no longer try to figure out why the dude with the $7,000 Cervelo, does not know how to pump up his tires.

I will no longer chastise people for mounting an inordinate amount of stuff all over their bikes, while leaving three nice cycling jersey pockets empty.

I will no longer scratch my head at the girl wondering if running a marathon two weeks before her “Goal A-Race” triathlon is a good thing.

I will try to be patient with people who weave all over the road while trying to ride in their areo bars.

I will no longer draw on the knowledge, experience, information of 25 years in the sport, and question the, “latest training trend”.

I will no longer suggest a more realistic and pragmatic approach to IM training. If you want to do an IM on 6 months of training - go nuts!

I will no longer reference the training informtion and tips that have been passed onto me by coaches who have coached numerous Olympic, Ironman, and National champions.

I will no longer accuse AG triathletes of taking any form of supplements.

I will no longer try and figure out why you need a GPS Unit on a well marked race course with frequent mile markers.

There. I feel much better.

You aren’t going to have very much to say anymore…

No worries - I’ll chip in to pick up the slack!

Lay off the sauce dude, it’s still early.

That’s some good stuff, Steve.

hahahahahahahahaha!!!

I guess your tuning out of ST for a while. The train wrecks are now the best part of the forum.

Fleck - you are SUCH a prick =-)
Now go back there and fix my wetsuit before freeze up!

You can “laugh”, “wonder”, “be impatient” at them all you want, you just can’t say so on ST.

Thats the problem with having world class pro triathletes using the same web site as the guy/gal that is wondering if they can do a sprint tri in under 3 hours without dying : )

You have way too many people at the farthest ends of the spectrum for everyone to understand everything the same way. I mean…“holy sh*t, batman”… someone, on this site, argues about nearly everything that is posted, on this site: )

If you’re sporting a $7000 bike don’t the tires pump themselves??

About dam time…
Now when will the rest of you “know it all’s” jump on the band wagon and slap on the compression socks?

I will try to be patient with people who weave all over the road while trying to ride in their areo bars.

Hey, I resemble that remark. Though I doubt you would ever have to pass me because I swim so slow that almost nobody ever passes me.

As for the rest, hi-larious. Thanks for the laugh.

When people stop asking how much something weighs and instead ask how aero it is, then I’ll get off my soapbox.

I guess the only thing left for you is tubular versus clincher…

yeah, there is lots of negative energy now. Many others have gone underground. The rest have been banned.

I will - each and everyone - and a few you missed.

Used to be we could make fun as most of us knew eachother in person as well as on line. Now, who the hell knows who is typing and what used to be 30-40 folks at an ST gathering is now a few of the old timers at best. What is really funny is all the “experts” here who are only “experts” from here and reading other websites and magazines - no racing or industry gravits needed to be an expert on ST. So, if something does not fit the new trend - it must certainly suck. Currently, we all need internal cables and compression socks…no need to train if you have either or both.

Careful . . . you may get banned! And then even he wouldn’t know where to find you!

To stick with ST rules - YOU ARE WRONG

Internal cables?..you mean those thing sticking out make me SLOOOOOWWWWWWW???

Dang…I thought once i got compression socks I could turn pro!! : ) Oh, yeah, I fogot…I stopped wearing them after my workouts after one week. Yikes!!

Ya, know…it used to be like that at the races too. You pretty much knew everyone, even those not in your age group. The awards ceremonies used to go on for hours, even at sprint races, since it was like a big family party! My first awards ceremony was 19 years ago and of 308 people in that race…probably 250 of them sat around for the party and see everyone get their awards.
