Does anyone know the start times for Macca, Lieto, Chrissie, and Dan this Saturday? It looks like the pros start at 1pm, but I can’t seem to find anything more than that.

Same. Something like the last tri (or “invite”) goes off 30 minutes before the first pro cyclist. Is this so there is no risk of contamination?
Bets anyone? Lieto 1st (of the tri geeks), Macca & Wellington close behind Macca.
I would assume they simply dont want anyone outside of the official race to have any chance of interfering with the race (bad crash or flat that could cause a delay).
I read somewhere the tri folks will go off at 11 a.m.

Anyone have a list of all the other amateurs who are doing the TT? I know that Trek has some of their dealers racing and that they get to ride Speed Concepts. Should be interesting to see what times they all throw down…
It is doubtful that 85% of the cyclists will be going all out, most of the domestics and sprinters will just try to ride comfortably and recover for the days ahead.
Will CW be wearing an aero helmet, ss, and booties?

Indeed, I just wanted to be a bit pedantic and point out that he will not be in the top 15% if the entire field was going at their maximum. I do hope he does well though, along with Macca and CW!

Hmm…I live on the E Coast, does it matter what time the Tri guys (and lady) start??? With the shotty television/internet coverage we’ve been getting from versus, I think we have a better shot of seeing this TT streamed from Val’s surf shop than Versus!
Well, I can at least promise you there will be some good photographs of the triathletes

Apparently Lieto goes off at 11am, Chrissie shortly thereafter, and Macca around 11:29. These times are not necessarily 100% accurate but what I heard from a reliable source.
