Still licking my wounds from yesterday’s ass beatin up in New Paltz. Did the Long Course albeit barely. Unbelievable race. Easily the toughest race I ever did. In a moment of insanity some months ago, I decided to do the Harryman Half only one week after this beast. Harryman is no joke either. Anybody else out there doing Harryman that did AmZof LC?
At least the swim will feel like an ice bath ![]()
Long term forecast looks promising, fingers crossed.
Rest up.
Good luck with the 2nd half of the big double. I thought about doing it myself, then entered the middle distance F-1 to be safe, then dropped out after the 2nd run with leg cramps. It was easy to convince myself that this was “smart”, to save my legs for a better race next week, with the (not so) long term goal of Placid. Will this make up for too little training and too much beer? Not bloody likely.
I’ll be swimming in my pond tonight to start acclimating for the Harryman ice bath.
Although its been written here many times, it still begs to be noted: Outstanding job last weekend. I must admit that I underestimated the ferocity of that race and it bit me in the ass. Loved every second. Good luck next weekend, see you there and maybe we can lift a cold one afterward.
Just one? See you next weekend!
