So how about Ben Spies? 3 Wins in 4 races! Some Suzuki honcho must be contemplating sepuku right about now. Figure he’ll make Rossi a nice teammate next year as well.
Superbike and MotoGP are two completely different leagues, you only have to ask Toseland how different. Toseland won 7? WSBK championships and whilst he’s had good showings in MotoGP, its a different class of rider and Suzuki are unlikely to feel terrible about their decision. Cant wait for it to start, think the more interesting team for 09 will be Hayden and that whiny little bitch Stoner, Hayden I like, Stoner after Leguna Seca showed he’s like school on Saturdays…no class!
I admit, you can’t predict MotoGP success from the lower series. Many thought Biaggi was gonna completely dominate SBK as he was an upper echelon GP rider. I think Spies would do well though. He got 8th at Laguna on a much inferior Suzuki with very limited riding time. Put him on the M-1 with a good off season of development and I think he would be consistent podium finisher.
I too am looking forward to seeing what Hayden can do. He got screwed by Honda. And also not a big fan of Stoner. He does indeed seem to be a whiney little beotch.
I’m finally excited for racing again. Now if we could only get some good new blood in AMA. I’m not impressed with the current talent and Mladin is getting boring.
The other thing to consider is that at mid-twenties, there’s a chance when you enter MotoGP that you could be to old, you only have to look at Pederosa (another bitch) and Lorenzo to see what getting on a GP bike as a kid does. Lorenzo has two of the biggest high sides I’ve ever seen, then rides with broken bones.
I like Hayden, vermulen and edwards a lot but Edwards himself said something about not wanting to kill him self to win last year, my feeling is that if you’d not got a GP ride by the time you’re 21-22 whilst you might get one later I think its less likely you could win a world championship.
