American F1 Fans

If you follow F1 closely you’ll get it.

Just curious though, how many people in the USA even know who Scott Speed is?

My wife would get it but that’s because I’ve brainwashed her. I’m a Brit so I don’t count, I’ve forgotten more about F1 than most American cities will ever collectively know

He’s crap anyway. I don’t like the look of the one above the word “are” much…with fans that look like that you’re likely to get fired in F1

I didint know Chavs liked F1!

Spyker’s MD is a chav:

.

Geee! They should be careful…something like that could lead to Anschluss number 2, with the current administration over here.

GREAT PHOTO…Yeah screw those MF’ers…Apparently last week…*After *Speed was sacked…he concluded a test at Mugello with Seb Vettel sitting in the paddock, already knowing Seb was taking his seat…are you kidding me…I wish Speed would have given those guys the finger and walked out and refuses to test, apparently the friction has been building up over the last few months. I think there was also some loud verbal bouts between the managers and Speed,… Apparently Tonio L is on thin ice as well.

Strange how Red Bull grooms these boys forever…then Bam…see ya later Bitch, dont let th edoor hit ya.

Welcome to the world of F1…

I cant wait for the Alonso- Hamilton fire works the rest of the year…with Alonso Holding up Lewis in Q3 this AM…causing him to bu unable to comlete his last quick lap…Lewis was not amused to say the least…Thes etwo are going to dual it out…should be great viewing . I like the grit of alonso,…got to respect Lewis in his rookie year as well.

As for Speed, he’ll probably have some sucess in IRL or Champs hopefully.

Hey now!

He hasn’t been released from his contract yet and there’s a press conference Sunday to announce Scott’s future with STR. While it certainly looks like he’s getting screwed I will withhold judgement.

Steve

Speed is a good driver; I blame the car. Either way, F1 won’t miss Speed. It’s one thing to have an American at the front of the F1 grid, they would be going crazy, but who gets excited about someone bringing up the rear? Before Alonso began winning I doubt Spain was gaga over F1, if Hamilton wasn’t winning, the Brits wouldn’t be enthused. When an American can begin to qualify and finish top 3 F1 will gain some support in America. Until then…

and dont forget that Eccelstone took away F1 from the US now as there is not F1 GP scheduled till atleast 2009 supposedly, thats subject to change of course…I think poor ole Scott Speed didnt get a fair shot with STR because there was a lot of controversy about whether he ever really gelled(sp) with the team and how they managed their drivers more aggressive than others…Andretti is the next american, he looked good testing for Factory Honda this winter…

I agree, Speed is a decent driver but I think F1 is a bit over his head. He is a CART or Indy driver at best

Yes the F1 at Indy is cancelled, replaced with MotoGP race in 2008, although that is just as cool.

F1 was kind of an oddity here in Indy. I don’t think anyone is going to miss it. I’m glad Tony George didn’t knuckle under to Eccelstone. I’m not a huge racing fan though, so I may not understand all the particulars. I’ve lived in Indy almost 12 years and have been to the track only once, to visit their little museum.

Rumor is that Las Vegas may get a race, would be a street race similar to Monaco where it would be through the city, Valencia Spain just got a race like that for next yr. MotoGP is crazy fun to watch but not quite as good as F1

I agree…redneck racing belongs in places like Indy.

I went to a couple of of the F1 races at Indy and I was a bit surprised how much white-trash showed up to the event but the event lost attendance from the first year.

F1 is a World sport, just look at these locals: Monaco, San Marino, Magny-Cours, Japan, Brazil, China, Hungary, Germany, etc.

Indy at one time was special but when open-wheel split and Nascar came in, it cheapened the hallowed grounds.

I wish F1 would come to Long Beach or Laguna Seca. Laguna is probably to small for F1 but would be a great excuse to redo the track again.

First of all, nobody looks good in a Honda!
Also Marco didn’t look all that good when compared to the other Honda pilots.

Andretti is nothing special. He’s just a spoilt little brat with a famous surname. He’s not the best racer in America. He’s not the best racer in the IRL. Shit, he’s not even the best racer is his daddy’s IRL team.

However, he will be the next American in F1 and he’ll get the press/following Scott Speed didn’t.

Personally, I’d bet he’ll be back with his tail between his legs within a season, just like his old man.

ok ok Time out there lol…I agree this years Honda is ugly and everything but if the chassis designer wasnt so damn stupid they would be up there right behind a badass BMW car…

as for Andretti, I dont watch any open wheel racing thats not F1 so i havent seen him drive but i did see his Honda tests and times and he looked good…ill take your word on being spoiled and not the best racer, im sure there is a lot better drivers suited for an F1 car in this country but the question is WHERE THE HELL ARE THEY!? He will get a lot more press because of his name too…his old man got screwed during his shot at F1…oh well too late now to complain

I wish F1 would come to Long Beach or Laguna Seca. Laguna is probably to small for F1 but would be a great excuse to redo the track again.

Long Beach? Puh-lease! What a disgusting joke of a “race track”. I’d rather see F1 racing around traffic cones in a Vegas parking lot (again).

Also, Chris Pook is an arrogant dickhead.
