Amazing .... training actually works

somewhere deep in the cold of winter, a lone anglo-american is dripping sweat on a treadmill, seeing how long he can keep up a 6:00 pace (with a 1% incline for realism). more than 1 minute seems too much.

in the middle of summer, the same anglo-american is on the track at a local university, running in the quiet heat of a july 4th morning. first two miles: 6:00, 6:12. he recovers, does the next mile in 6:22, recovers again and a fourth in 6:11. then he runs home, puts in a 2x20@LT session on the computrainer and finishes off with another 2 miles at 7:20.

what do you know - this training stuff really works. who’da thunk it? blackwater traverse du on sunday … bring it on!

the question is did you save anything for the weekend?

tfun~

I was about to ask how your swimming was, until I saw that you’re racing a duathlon instead… you’re missing the best part but have a good race

Awesome!

It’s so wonderful to see progress, isn’t it?

Have a great race!

Good luck at Blackwater! See you in Richmond on October 21st, if not before.

richmond? bwahahaha!

the M40-44 group is the largest one at Blackwater. there is no way in hell that i will qualify for worlds! if you see me in richmond, its because i might go to cheer on julie, who qualified at the 3Sports race earlier this year (the usual 1st place masters, 6th OA).

Just think how faster you would’ve been if you’d ran slower.

My money’s always on an AmZof finisher. Have a great race!
