For all of the screwed up and tragic stories on the news (including the one on yesterday’s Chicago news of the nice family going for an outing in the minivan, yakima rooftop storage and all, when the mother shot and injured her husband and then killed her 3 kids and herself), here’s one that goes the other way. 5 years old and alone floating in a river. She told searchers that she was wearing flotation devices on her arms, and pulled herself from the water with a branch. amazing.
