I’m planning on buyin my first tri bike this winter/spring. I’ve been riding my Trek 5200 carbon road bike. I don’t have Ironman aspirations – really an Olympic distance kind of guy although I could see myself doing a 1/2 IM. I’ve been thinking hard about the Cervelo P2SL, but it now looks like they will be making a carbon version out this spring. From a performance standpoint, would I be sacrificing stiffness by going with carbon? Any perspectives would be greatly appreciated.
In general, the differences in frame material are significantly less than what people make them out to be.
Get a good fit and you’ll enjoy either one.
