Altitude and Ironman CDA

Does anyone know whether the altitude of Ironman CDA is great enough to effect the performance of athletes traveling from low altitude areas? The profile on the website indicates that the course is in between 2100 and 2500 feet (I am assumine above sea level). I don’t think that is enough to effect performance but being from an area close to below sea level, I wondered if it would make any difference in my breathing. Thanks!

Altitude will not be an issue.

I’ve done the race all 3 years. You will not notice the altitude at all.

I don’t think altitude becomes a detriment to performance until you’re 4,000ft or higher.

I was living in Chicago the year I did CDA and I certainly didn’t notice the altitude diff.

No worries! Great course and support!

Not that much different altitude than LP.

you’re going up. i’m going down. you’ll probably still beat me.

unless you’re from atlantis, 2000 ft isn’t enough to matter. some of the tris/dus in my area are at 5-7k. those, altitude matters.
