Alright, I'll bite... Is there anything to this Phiten thing?

I assume I am the last person on the planet to learn about this: The Phiten titanium stuff you wear that “redirects” energy or some such granola thing that makes good things more and bad things less.

Do you guys buy into this at all? I mean, if nothing else, the stuff looks cool. I’m all for positive energy… real or imagined.

You are not the “last” person since I still have no idea what you are talking about.

Probably not as intended. But there is always the power of positive thinking which I am convinced goes a long way. If it looks cool, go with it!

That’s what I was thinking too…

Here’s a link FYI.

yeah, and if you believe that it works, i got some ‘crystals’ and a nice bridge to sell you …

A couple of years ago, when all of the baseball players were wearing them…sheep that I am - ordered a necklace…

My wife yelled at me…told me I looked idiotic wearing it. I dutifully agreed - something you’ve probably got the hang of by now

I sent it back. Apparently its powers “didn’t take” with me…

Imagine what a titanium bike could do for you… if any of that crap was true.

Try it…what the heck…

We have “vortexs” in Sedona. People beleive that this is where the earths energy is emitted in high concentrations, even to the point of “twisting” trees. I always ask my guests to take pictures when they are standing at a vortex and get raised off the ground, but no one has ever returned a picture : (

Beleive what you like. The mind is very powerful.

You’ve tried to sell that bridge on here before Greg!

Believe what you like. The mind is very powerful.

so true about the power of the mind. but it makes me wonder what your belief of, ‘He Who Dies With the Most Toys WINS’, does to the inside of your head …

scary.

exactly.

this “product” reminds me of the new age (and supposedly earth-friendly) folks who bought up crystals like crazy a few years ago.

of course, due to demand, the price of the crystals climbed a lot, so the incentive to rip 'em out the ground increased, and if you looked at the areas where companies were mining them, the miners and their methods caused enormous environmental devastation.

on all these new-age (but highly industrial) products and “anti-aging” formulas, all you gotta do is follow the money trail and see where it leads: usually to big ol’ hole in the ground filled with toxic leachate, or to factory farms where the living beings live in conditions that would make the Auschwitz death camps look like the ritz-carlton …

.

They sponsor a couple triathletes, so in my book, that makes them a nice company! I have a couple friends who wear the stuff. If they shatter any PB’s, I’ll let you know.

By sheer coincidence, I never had heard of them until about an hour ago and then I came back and saw this thread. Was at the local sporting goods shop talking to a friend of mind who owns the place and is a longtime runner when I noticed he had these two spots on his knee that looked like nicotine patches.

I asked him about them and they are the phiten stuff. The spots of tape are free samples that they send him with an order. I flipped him shit for wearing them of course. He said no one was more skeptical than him and he figured they were total bullshit but since he had some freebies he put them on. He says he feels a definite difference. He wasn’t trying to sell me on them - said he is embarrassed to even tell me, but he thinks they do something for him. I have a hip injury that has me just about out of commission right now, so he gave me some free samples and told me to just try them for the hell of it. At this point I will try anything.

He also says he sells a ton of the necklaces. Got 200 a couple months back and sold them all - just got more in.
