I’m planning on “giving it a throw”
It’s in Taos NM on Aug 13-14. Omnium, 3 stages.
Has anyone been there and seen/done or know anything about the race?

The road race is a bit of a toss up depending on your ability level. It features what is rumored to be the steepest section of road in all on NM, though the climb is rather short. There are two hot sprint spots on the course, one on a long straight not long after the start/finish line and the second at the top of that steep climb. The finish of the lap has a steady uphill that can split a group and then a flat roll into the finish. Some of the corners right after the start/finish line are tight and can be precarious.
The time trial is all up hill. Nothing steep, but steady all the way. You will likely only have 3 hours of recovery before your TT start time depending on your CAT level and the length of your RR. Be sure to really eat well during the RR. The key to the TT is to start hard as there is a small incline followed by a significant downhill, then your climbing. Settle in on the lower slopes and try to build pace as you climb.
The crit is a long slog the next day. The course is a bombing descent with a 180 degree turn followed by a two tiered climb. There are primes worth $20 along the way.
Good luck
Have you raced it?
will you be there?

My wife and I both raced it last year. We will not be there as we recently moved to VA.
