All all Zipp 808 clincher wheels the same? Or can there be different bearings?

I am looking to pull the trigger on a new 2008 Zip 808 clincher. I assume all the Zip wheels are the same.

Or is it possible to build one and put cheap bearings in it? I am looking to purchase it from a local wheel builder that I really don’t know. The price is $850 including tax which I know is not the best but seemed reasonable.

Theoretically, yes. You would just need to know - and order - bearings with the exact inner/outer dimensions. BUT, that is easier said than done. The tolerances are quite tight. What makes you think this might be a possibility?
