He was funded by British Athletics before he was funded by British Triathlon. When he went to the WCs in Mexico as a junior he was still funded by British Athletics. He was then funded by British Triathlon at the end of that season in line with the next funding cycle.
back when duathlon (then biathlon) was a pretty big thing back in the mid-late 80s and early 90s (desert princess, zofingen, coors series) benjamin paredes (mexico) went from duathlon to straight running ending up with a PR of 2:10 in rotterdam, 2 olympic games, 2nd in NYC marathon. he’s the best multisporter-turned-marathoner. but yee’s 2:11 is probably the best triathlon go at a marathon. i would like to see morgan pearson give it a whirl.
Ok , never heard of him, sorry
Yes, would also like to see Hugo Milner have a ho. But not until after LA, because he seriously needs to work on his bike. Anyway Hugo paced Alex to 30k on 2:08 pace. So perhaps, some potential there.
Im really looking forward to seeing Milner and Yee get off an easy bike together and go at it on the run, maybe with Yee off messing around, doing marathons there swim and bike has evened out a bit and we’ll get it this year.
Um, not sure about that, Milner hasn’t bike well so far this year. Was better at the end of last year. Think he really needs to stop focusing on running so much. But he has been having a lot of success in cross country.
Alex Yee will make a return to racing on the track - he is entered for the British 10000m Championships in Birmingham on Saturday 14 June. With a PB of 27:51.94, it’d be his first 10,000m since the 2018 European Championships. His last track race was a 3000m in Bromley in August 2020
Well he has Hayden’s new time to shoot for, certainly doable on the track I would say. But yes, I think after this marathon bloc he will PB if the conditions are favorable with pacers and others to run with…
