Negative output. Now that is a truly ideal standard for Congress. Could you picture major bills being passed with less pork barrel legislation in them, than when they were first proposed? Sigh, only in my dreams.

I did think it was interesting that he did not “play ball” and forced the situation into a public spectacle and embarassment for Pelosi, insisting publicly that he wanted the seat even after the handwriting was on the wall, and commenting on it to the press later about the “haters”–and “how can he be good enough for the committee but not good enough for the chairmanship”. Maybe she should have offered him a bribe to go quietly.
