MattinSF,

I loved it when Webb ran a fast mile earlier in the season and became a blip on the radar. Listening to people speculate that he would just be a flash in the pan and peak too early made me chuckle. Has anyone noticed the constant improvement in his performances? This kid is a great runner and will only get better. His peak will be 7 or 8 years down the road baring injuries. Grab your shorts and hang on!

It sure looks like there is method to his madness and he is right on track with his training and racing! Way to go Alan! Keep up the great work. We are rooting for you.

Webb is just beginning to discover what it is like to run and race at this level. He has much untapped potential. It wouldn’t surprise me if in a big “meet” he came up with a Bob Beamon type performance and shocks everyone. Just so much adrenalin flowing and he doesnt know what to do with it. Webb is becoming serious competion for the world class milers/1500 m runners. He can no longer be discounted.

Pfft is that all

D’ya think he lifts?

Holy crap, was that before or after the race?

I have read that he does, in fact, lift weights, though he has cut back. I think it was in Runners’ World a while back that he said he had been into the weight lifting too much and had gained upper body weight. At some point upper body weight will not make you run faster and he had been searching for the happy medium.

Still, that’s pretty darn ripped for a skinny little distance runner. Its going to be fun to watch how he handles the pressure of the greatest show on earth. Hopefully he can break into the big time and medal.

Even with all the muscles he still looks like Timmy from SouthPark.http://i.walmart.com/i/p/00/08/53/93/73/0008539373502_500X500.jpg

actually, i think the bulk is from his background as a long distance swimmer in HS. Those scrawny runners bounce of this dude.

That kid is for real. He beat Chirchir in the process.

And how about Mottram, a white dude!, going 12:55 for 5K and pushing the emperor to the limit. That is phenomenal.

I wonder if either would bother to impregnate my wife for me.

I heard he was a breast stroker, and a very mediocre one at that. Even so, swimming for kids is great preparation for a lot of sports. Maybe even golfers. Uh, well, NOT!

Years of aerobic base without the pounding on the legs. To think it wouldn’t be helping him now would be a mistake (I’m agreeing with your assessment).

wow breast stroking is good preparation for sports? I think that would get more men into sports and solve the obesity problem…

“come on baby it’s for my training… just let me stroke them”
