Anyone run in these shoes? Any advice. I’m looking for a light weight shoe I can train in sometimes and race in.
haven’t tried the new versions although I almost picked up a pair last week. I loved the old Shift Vapors that were out last year but I’m going to have to put the new Shift on the sketchy side, it also might be too soft for serious training or racing. If you like Nike and lightweight I’d defer to the Zoom Elite which is a moderate stability shoe and one of the best lightweight trainers on the market, awesoem shoe, personal fav for sure. Most of my speedwork is done in a Nike Skylon and it’s a great shoe to race in too as it’s really really fast to get into with speed type laces. Almost no seams in the upper either for barefoot running.
What do you think of the Zoom Marathoner?
haven’t tried the marathoner although it looks like a nice racing shoe. I always loved Zoom Air shoes. That’s a little too light to be a training/racing shoe for most people though. If you’re looking at flats definetely give the Saucony Fasttwitch Endurance shoes a spin. They are in my opinion one the best flats currently on the market. Good cushioning that’ll go pretty much any distance, smooth ride, nice upper that is sockless friendly and the weight, man they are in the scary light range but still don’t beat you up.
Do the Saucony fit like the Nike? I am a Pegasus kind of guy, have been for 15+ years. The few times I tried a different shoe, I started having some pain in the knee that disappeared as soon as I went back to the Pegasus. Therefore, I am reluctant to step too far away from what I am used too. I am looking for a lighter shoe for longer distance racing though, and that is how I found about the Zoom Marathoner.
