I am trying to plan out 2006 and was wondering if anyone knows when and where 2006 age-group world’s are

It’d be nice if they had agegroup and pro worlds at the same venue again.

Depends which World Championships you are talking about? Short Course Duathlon Long Course Duathlon Short Course Triathlon Long Course Triathlon

I assume you are probably asking about Short Course Tri Worlds which will be in Lausanne, Switzerland, in August I think.

Any rumors on Long Du Worlds? To my knowledge they have not been announced.

sorry, no clue on this end. Luasanne is the only one that I have heard about so far, well and Cornerbrook for SC Du Worlds (I think).

ditto to mike’s post: we’d heard last year that it was to be back in lausanne again in 2006 (it was there in 1998).

I guess that means early Nationals in '06 if Worlds is in August.

If your talking Du’s I don’t even think they take that into consideration (most yrs) when it comes to qualifiers. - Unfortunately-

SC Tri Nats. Just wondering when & where they will be in '06. Would be great to know by January.

Oh no. They never have next year’s figured out this early. 2005 info is posted. Unlikely anyone even knows where '06 Nats will be, much less when.

such a pessimist. Not without reason I am afraid. But…all that remains is a couple of “t’s” to be crossed and “i’s” to be dotted and the Worlds qualifier will be announced for 2006, maybe next weekend at Nationals. Keeping in mind that with the mid summer date of World’s next year, it is likely that there will be a World’s qualifier early in the year, and Nationals later in the year, much like a couple of years ago when we had a World’s qualifier in Lake Placid.

Hey Mike, So it looks like all the slots for next years worlds will have to be at an early season qualfyier, I would assume sometime before July. So would the nationals next year be the qualifyier for the 2007 worlds? That would make it about a year before the actual race…Maybe you guys are splitting the slots again between two races again…Can’t wait to hear about the new great venue for our championships…Good luck next week in your race, give the old men hell…

“The World Long Distance Triathlon Championships move out of Europe for the first time in a number of years and will take place in Australia. It is not until December 2006 so make that long term goal now and get training for a visit down under.”

not sure anyone cares about long course worlds…

Short course are in Lausanne Sept 2006. I will be test riding this course at the European champs in 2 weeks time so I’ll back to you all on how this goes.

Hey Bryce, didn’t see you this week-end, but how did it go for you ?

I see from the results that you clocked a 2.31 overall. Nice race, mate.

I think we got pretty lucky with the weather.

Bearing in mind the race win time at the europeans was 2:13 and the bike course was two loops of 9 miles up and 3 down it was a wonder I could run at all. I held back unusually for me in the saddle but still carried the piano by 7k of the run. I expected a better result but I’ll post the full story soon…

I know, I did the race too, in the popular race earlier in the morning. The last two loops on the run were very painful for me too, as I hadn’t trained in 3 months for running at all (not even one session). But I could not pass on such a great bike course and had to do it. And I don’t regret it at all either.

Looking forward to next year.
