Would it be advisable to bring a wetsuit? Thoughts? It is late August.
Almost 100% it will be wetsuit legal for AG’ers. I’m rusty on ITU cut off for AG’ers but I think it’s 22C/72F.

So yes, I’d bring your wetsuit.
22 is correct. Next year it will be a toss up in Edmonton with a race date ~ August 20th and a small “lake”.
I’m the “local” guy. Bring your wetsuit with you, but be prepared to swim without. Last year in Lausanne at the qualifying event for the AG World it was a non-wetsuit swim as the water temperature was around 25°C
Here you can fin true local measurement http://meteolakes.ch/#!/insitu (actual/historical)
Have fun, I’ll be next to the course to encourage people
Cheers

22C for sprint and 24.6C for standard for age groupers.
Unless there’s an unusual heat wave, I suspect your swim will likely be wetsuit legal… (even with the date for the Grand final being 4 weeks earlier than usual)
"22C for sprint and 24.6C for standard for age groupers. "
My read of the November 25, 2018 ITU rules, section 4.2, is 22 degrees C for age group races of 1500 meters or less:
**Age Group athletes: Swim Length **
**Forbidden **
*Mandatory **
Up to 1500m
22 ºC and above
15.9 ºC and below
1501m and longer
24.6 ºC and above
15.9 ºC and below
You’re right, although most RDs make their course 1501m tp bump up the cut-off…
