African (African in Oz) now trading as Alexander - Alex was taken

Thought I’d use my real name - had to be the long version, though. Rain still pelting down in Sydney - God knows we need it.

Had a knee op ten days ago and I’m healing up good. Will be running in two weeks, and swimming tomorrow.

Alex

What’s with that? Last week you had a heat wave, and now it is raining?

Oddly enough, the weather is brilliant over the pond. Blue skies, temp in the high teens…very good for us.

Go figure.

This place is quite beyond understanding. We had 38 degrees two weeks ago and yesteray was 15 and pouring. I suppose 15 is a scorcher for you guys!

Well, fifteen and no rain or wind would be average! Today is about 18/20, so just marvellous. Matter of fact, I am off to ride to make the most of it!

You mean that you’re really not from Nigeria?

No, I’d have your credit card number by now if i was! I’m from South Africa.

Hey ex African!!!

Where you from in South Africa and what are you doing there!!!

BTW. Not a cloud in the sky today - 28 deg, riding my first 100km race tomorrow around Hartebeespoort Dam.

I’m from Cape Town. Moved to Sydney for reasons I’m yet to rationalize - maybe the violence, mabe the corruption, other things, too. It’s not necessarily better here, though.

There’s your problem dude, you’re in the wrong state.

Queensland, take it from a former Melbourneite, it’s the way to go.

At least try it before you go back to Sarf Effrica.

Alexander, what kind of knee op?

Axelman, get the hell out of Sydney and move to Australia.

Had a cyst remove front behind the patella - it was on the fat pad. Just an arthroscopy.

Amen sister. Brisbane is where it is at. I have worn shorts for the past 5 years summer and the 2 days of winter. We have just had 3 days of occasional rain for the first time in months.

Dude, i come from Cape Town - I like rain and cold weather, as long as the Summers are hot. Sydney is just fucked, though.

A little advice from a guy with 2 knee surgeries. When you start running, usa a treadmill for a week or so. After that use a track for a weeek or so. Then hit the road. Treadmills and tracks are much easier on the knees and will help you ease into it. It worked for me.

I also like Brisbane. But it was the only place I visited in Australia.

Good Luck.

Thanks for the advice elund.
