i am planning of having my aerohelmet custom painted, will this affect the inner shell in terms of not being to able to protect me anymore in case i crash?
Are you planning on removing the shell from the rest of the helmet? If you just paint, it shouldn’t compromise it. Will add some weight to it… probably not enough to notice though.
Who are you going to have do it? I was toying with the idea. Don’t really like the options given with this years colors.
no plans of removing the shell, i plan on having it spraypainted at a local mall who does shirts but they have great designs…i have the first giro advantage
.
Shouldn’t have any adverse affect unless for some reason the paint fumes some how affect the integrity of the glues… but I don’t think that would happen. (for example… motorcycle helmets shouldn’t be rested on top of the gas tank because gas fumes can damage the inside of a helmet - but even that requires long exposure).
great…1 down, next one is what design…
castle and unicorn? What do mall painters paint?
Curious how it comes out… I’d consider it if comes out looking cool. Post back with pics and prices.
Would you custom embroider your parachute?
Depends on how cool the design looks. ![]()

anybody know how much he typically charges for painting aero helmets?
Spray paint may negatively effect the helmet foam (depending on the paint solvent, propellant, and the type of foam). Just have them mask off the foam (paper and masking tape) and paint only on the plastic shell. The “second hand” fumes won’t harm the foam.
