Aerobars and you

I am setting up my Giant with a set of 3T sub 8s. Considering I won’t be at a steep eat angle do I still want my upper and lower arms at 90 degrees or more stretched out? Anyone use these bars before?

I am unfamiliar with those aero bars, but when I did tris on my TCR, Iused Syntace C2’s small, which is a size smaller than I would have used on a tri bike and they worked great.

So the moral of the story is that if you aren’t buying a road geometry specific aero bar such as Profile Jammer GT’s, then use a size smaller than you would normally use if on a tri bike.

My bike has Profile Jammer SL. I really like those, and shorter events (up to Olympic distance) don’t really require pads. IMO the GT pads just screwed up my position, so I bought the wrap-around mini-pads.

Here’s a pic. You won’t believe how many times I’ve change the position of the bars. I tried em horizontal, I’ve tried them vertical, but in the end I foudn this to be the most comfortable:

Plz notice the breaks, slightly pointing upwards in a Lance Armstrong style. You don’t have to lean as far forward to hold them, and it takes some of the stress off your back.
