So can someone convince me to rent a pair of race wheels?? I just did vineman 70.3 and avg’d 22.6 mph on the bike with a pair of heavy mavic cosmic elites. In reality, what would be my gains if I were using a pair of 404’s or 606’s for timberman? Would I see a significant decrease in my time? I want to maximize my bike speed because my runnning isnt up to par just yet. Any input would be appreciated!
A minute to 1 1/2 minutes per 40K would be the time savings depending on other factors and wheel choices.
Depends a lot on wind. If windless - then almost no gain. Most conditions - I’d vote 1/4-1/2 mph.
Also depends on what tires you run…
