Aero versus weight

I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I have been reading about Francois, Gordo and others going very aero and low. Here are guys that are very fit, great power outputs and can see why they are going this route. Anything to get a few seconds and save a few watts.

But for us MOP, can we save more time in a hilly race with a lighter bike. Race on the West Coast and every race has hills. Faster climbing or faster on the hills.

Yes I know lose more body weight and you will climb faster. But at some point you hit your ideal weight. At this point which is better. The more aero bike and position or the lighter bike with good position.

It all depends on what you have already spent your money on. :~))
