Any idea if you can “offset” (turn/twist) an aero seatpost like on the P3? One of John Cobb’s best tips is to set your seat (men only ladies ) to 2-5 degrees left or right (depending if you or a lefty or righty). Must admit this works BRILIIANT but I’m looking at specking a new bike for next season and apart from the usual stuff like fit I’m particular about my seat! Anybody know if you can “twist” an aero post? Or is this only for normal round ones. (Ooo the pain!)
On the P2K/P3 the seatpost head has a round shaft that inserts into the aero portion of the seatpost and is tightened by an allen screw at the back. You can rotate the head through 360*, so you can put the saddle in any position you want. On some other bikes, like the Felt DA650/700 the head can’t be rotated so you’re stuck with straight ahead (assuming the frame and post are straight).
GREAT news thanks!
Wow, as a ‘seat twister’ about to buy a bike with an aero seat post I never thought of that - thanks.
I wonder how many bike manufactuers are not thinking of it either?
Anyone know if you can get an aero seatpost that can be ‘fast forwarded’ as an after market item for any bike ?
"the seatpost head has a round shaft "
That made me giggle.
As I was typing it, I knew that someone would comment on it. It’s only fitting that it was you, Mr T. Rock on, dude.

It’s funny how few people think of this as a useful feature. When I was picking up my bike I had the saddle swapped out for an Aspide, and as the owner of the shop was fumbling with the seatpost he commented that he didn’t understand why Cervelo had made such a complicated seatpost head. To quote, “If they could improve their manufacturing process to make sure the seat tube was straight, they wouldn’t need a seatpost head that was adjustable.” He said that he had even contacted Cervelo to tell them this. I then asked him what someone would do if they didn’t want the saddle dead-straight ahead?.. silence.
