Aero Questions (computer/QR)

Finishing up building my new TT/tri bike (P2K) and I was curious if there is any info out there on aero quick releases or best places to mount the sensor/pickup for my computer. My speed sensor is picked up from the rear wheel (disc), is there a special spot I should mount it? I have not really found any info on these subjects (yes, I searched here and goggle). Just looking for any free speed I can get.

I mount my rear speed pickup on the chain-stay. It’s out of the air better than on the seat-stay, but we’re really not talking about a measurable amount of difference here. In reality, it probably wouldn’t make a measurable amount of difference if it were mounted on my front fork…I just can’t bring myself to Ugly-Up my nice aero fork with a magnet pick-up glob.

Control tech makes / made a non-QR skewer, with an allen bolt head in place of the release lever. That is likely the most aero and lightest setup you will be able to get.

Want the most aerodynamic computer? Don’t use one. Otherwise, I don’t think there is any measurable difference between sensor placements.

i have just ordered myself a set of these

(was tempted to go for the lighter 26g set but that is silly… so went for the 47g set! haha)

i decided to go for this as i am not going to do much flat fixing in a race… i’ll carry a Pit Stop can and if it doesn’t work, then so be it and for me the absence of the qr lever looks so much nicer/cleaner.

anyway… with everyone talking about the drag effect of long straws in the profile aero bottle, is the absence of a QR lever comparable?
