Aero Penalty Question

Can’t find an answer to this, so I figure I’ll ask the masses.

How much aero penalty is occurred for exposed cables going to standard road brakes. Like seen on this Specialized here.

http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bikes/road/alias/alias-comp-tri-

10-15 seconds over a 40K?

Just curious

The cable alone could be nothing at all.

Or do you mean just, how much time does the standard road brake setup waste?

Some good data on that is in here:

http://www.tririg.com/docs/omega_whitepaper.pdf

Max of around 10 seconds time saved if you could create a perfectly hidden brake with no aero penalty at all.

That was what I was looking for! Thank you kindly. So basically we are talking 10 seconds tops for the 40K which is sorta what I was thinking

Sure I saw on here somewhere that100mm of exposed cable housing was around 1 Watt.
