Aero Forks?

Do Aero forks make a big difference? Is it worth the cost? Are aero wheels more effective with aero forks?

Some make a lot of difference, but it might not be where you think. If you have a multi-spoke carbon wheel, you need to get ahold of a “wide but thick” aero fork to combat the pressure drag that comes with each spoke passing through the fork blades. What this means is getting the fork with the thinnest blades, but the most distance between the wheel and the inside of the blades. The best example of this would be the Kinesis carbonaero produced for QR, Cannondale, Trek, and several smaller companies back in the late 90’s and early 2k. It’s a tank at 740 grams, but it’s worth it for those of us who run tri/quad spoke front wheels.
