Aero bars (5)

Just had a fit done and it was suggested that I get a different set of aero bars due to the fact that I can’t get my elbows wide enough on the stock ones. They are FSA Vision bars and they are fine at shorter distance, but nto so fine for me at IM distance. OVALs were suggested to me - any other suggestions on bars that allow a lot of width and angle adjustment oh the armrests?

Thanks in advance,

lulu

I have the Oval 710 clip-ons- they indeed have a ton of adjustment available. However, I have the FSA vision alloy wing base bar, and they limit how wide I can set the width. YMMV with over base bars. I’ve only done trainer rides with them, but they are so far more comfy than my previous set up on profile T2’s (at least at LT efforts).

I’ve had Profile Design Carbon Strykes and T2+. Both are incredibly adjustable. The pads can adjust left/right. The bars themselves can be mounted as wide as needed, and the bars can always be rotated to keep the hands closer together.

I have the profile t2+ that are stock on an s22. They seem to have gobs of adjustment on a tubular base bar but I cant stand the s-bend shape; hurts my wrist and makes my fingers go numb. I’m going to replace them with some ski bend types or maybe the Blackwell Research ss clip-ons (they look promising.) From the looks of it, they seem to have the same amount of adjustment if used on a tubular base. I’ll see what my fitter says but i’m not interested in spending stacks of c-notes on an uber high end cockpit either.

Roger that. The suggested bars for me are the OVAL Carbon at a cool $750 + - you’ve got to be kidding. Note to self next time I buy a bike: take the modular route. I love my Felt B2, but since buying it, I’ve refit it with enough stuff that it would have been less expensive to just buy the frame then build from there…or…next time I’ll just get the DA.
