Now you just need to add some image processing capability and write up some quick control laws. Then you can have the quadcopter follow you around and videotape your entire race.
He only has about 10 min of battery life, so he lands, does a quick swap and takes off again. This was his first day at the races and I think he did an awesome job. I bet the next is even better.
A little bit bigger with a gas motor and that could be the real deal. Even small races could have aerial coverage

That might annoy the racers. This is quiet and doesn’t spew fumes. Also, no fire hazard in case of a crash.
