Advise needed

My first A race is the 19th. It’a a 1/4 ironman. I had been training great My running and biking have been better than ever. Last week I started feeling tired. just no energy. I continued training but got feeling even more tired. My training was going great still. I took thursday off because I was so tired no energy at all. Friday I did a brick on the course. I fatigued and had no power on the bike. I ran Saturday then slep all day sunday. I’m taking today Monday 6/7 off, and I feel better.

What should I do before the race? I was going to do our weekly crit (hard ) tomorrow then swim wed. and lift/run thursday. Take Friday off and Brick on Sat. I still don’t feel 100%.

Rest a day and taper the rest of the week.???

How about the crit. Taper usually means lower volume and more speed (shorter/faster).

I am sure you can get a lot of different answers… I would listen to your body a bit. You are not going to add any conditioning that you already don’t have within the next two weeks.

If you really want to do the crit, then do it, otherwise chill a bit and taper…

I’m no exercise physiologist, but I agree. It sounds like you’re overtrained. I’m really great at NOT resting and tapering enough, or for long enough. DO NOT DO AS I DO!!

So what do you guys suggest I do ? What workouts? what days? How long —How fast???
