Advice with Cube Aerium- want to add front derailuer and 48/35 front crank

Hello, looking for advice on with the description in the title. I’m curious how the shifting in the front will need to change. Currently there are buttons in the aerobars and handles for up/down on the rear derailleur. Can I add a shifter for just the front derailleur?

Just add a FD, then pair the group, then use the sram app to set everything up.
You only need a double chainring and a FD, that’s it.
Shifting the FD is done by simultaneously pressing both (the left, and the right) shifter buttons

Thanks so much!

Or just have it in full synchro (I don’t know what SRAM calls it). The FD and RD are then controlled automatically to give you approximately 14 effective gears.

Sounds simple enough - but be prepared to change the length of the chain, and possibly the derailleur cage length if your keeping that wide range cassette (30T largest I think).

35T front and 30T rear is a real stump puller. What’s that for?

So I did get the Red FD on and a 2x chairing. I did have to buy the alignment tool and take 4 links out of the chain based on SRAM. I used the app to micro adjust everything once finished. Thanks for all the feedback !
