Advice on clip on bars

Im looking to get new clip on aero bars. Thinking of spending around $300. Is the Hed Aerobar clip on a good choice, what about the Vision Tech TT CLIP-ON MINI, Vision Tech Carbon Pro, and Vision Tech TT-Clip on. Any experince/advice?

I have the HED’s and Love them. I came off of c-2’s. I ride slack with drops and the clip on figure in quite well. I endd up taking a set of tall rise extensions from and aero bar set and putting them into the cups. Great adjustablity. Can say enough about them.

I own a pair of Vision Tech TT Minis, but paid around $60. I love them, they pair up perfectly with a road bike. However, there is a slight compromise in comfort because the pads rest right behind the wrist. Does your $300 budget include the base bar? I can’t remeber seeing clip-ons for that much.

it does not include base bar

You don’t say what kind of bike you are putting these on…

Any of these are good choices, depending on application…

What kind of bars are you replacing, and why?

An aerobar is an aerobar, unless it’s an aerobar.
What are you wanting out of your bars?
Lower? Higher? Lighter? Stronger?

I am building up my Trek 5200 to be a partime Tri/road bike and dont know what Clip on bars to use.

My recommendation for carbon road bikes:
http://bur5268s2.bach.2day.com/images/products/profile_aerobar_carbon_cgt_small.jpgProfile CGT’s.

I never liked the bends in those, Gopha…I used the original GTs and the GT Jammers…I just couldn’t get a solid feeling with them…too much hardware, too…

I like the simplicity of the VTs or Heds for shorty style…

I’m not in charge of function.

I am also currently converting my Kuota Kharma road bike into a tri bike

I tried the vision minis and they were way too short for me - I have long arms…and the pads were not comfortable…

my short list is Syntace C2s, Oval R910s, and Visiontech Carbons - The Ovals and the hed clip/flip lites are quite similar but my LBS can get the Ovals and they come standard with carbon extensions which is important to match my carbon frame hahaha  So Im leaning towards the Ovals…

I also have long arms, so you think the Hed’s would work better for me?

I’ve got those… but my bike is Ti. I’ve got a lot of compliments on them. Who cares about speed or comfort? They look good…

Silly me. That’s right. My bad.

i have used Scott, Profile and Syntace. Syntace is by far, the most solid. C-2 sells for much less than $300
