Advice needed - taking off powertap g3 hub cap

I went to remove my powertap g3 hub cap today and while I managed to find the hub cap removal tool (https://www.quarq.com/product/g3-hub-cap-removal-tool/), I realized I didn’t have the right tool to fit over that to get the hub cap off.

Does anyone know the specific tool that is needed to fit over that hub cap removal tool and get it off?

Thanks in advance.

John

Its knurled to undo with your hands?
It shouldn’t be more than handtight

If it is on a bit too tight for hand grip removal a pair of channel locks will do the trick - gently. Finger tight is all you need when you put it back on, enough to contact the ribber O ring and seal it.

Sorry if you already know this but if your hub is like mine step one is to take the spline tool which looks like a lock ring removal tool and remove the center lock ring you should be able to get it off with your hand. Step 2 is to take the tool and turn it upside down and take the thin edge and use it to gently pry the cap off. It is just held on with pressure. Take note of which way the battery is oriented and where the little metal connector transfers the power from the cap to the hub so you don’t mash it upon reinstallation not that I would know anything about that first-hand…

Channel locks. Lay the wheel on it’s side and gently twist off the hub cap while also pressing the channel locks sideways against the hub so the tool doesn’t slide off.

Thanks everyone - channel locks worked like a charm.
