SDJ - Awesome! Thanks a-lot! I’m ordering the Adios today. I’ve been a die hard adidas fan since I was 14 and playing club soccer and the craziness for adidas continues to this day. Thanks again!
My pleasure! I’m glad I could help out.
Check out this picture from the Scholastic race on Sunday in Boston. Kid was so excited he brought his Adios to the podium.

Thanks for the great info SDJ!!
I debated between wearing my brooks T5s and the Ace’s for my half marathon last weekend, and I decided to play it conservative and went with the Ace’s. I think I made the right decision. The Ace’s may be a little too much shoe for really fast guys, but at my speed (1:18), they felt just about right. Assuming all goes well with them in training over the year, they will be my marathon shoe for the fall.
I’ve become a big fan of adizero shoes, and I’m going to the try the Pros for 5 and 10k stuff once my T5s are finished. Thanks again.

That’s awesome. One of my soccer teammates actually had the adidas leaf tattood on his calf.
I just did a run in the Adios. I can feel the padding right off the bat. To me, it has significantly more padding than the Pro and is more comfortable. I also felt more spring in my step from the Adios. However, I won’t be doing a-lot of work in the Adios. The Pro is just a better shoe for me overall. I have a torn labrum and the racing flat eleviates the pain and changes my running mechanics up enough to where it’s actually comfortable to run in the PR. The Adios has too much padding for a 5K. Although, right off the bike, I am sure that the Adios would feel good with more padding than the Pro. The Pro definitely adds to the “brick” feeling, given it has minimal padding. If it weren’t for my torn labrum, I could probably give a better review of both shoes, but based on my injury the PR works best for me. So, here’s to running 6:40s on a torn labrum and hopefully, getting down to the 5 minute range in 2 months! LOL.
I just got the adizero LT, and it is amazing. I love that shoe. I know that this has been replaced by the Adios at this point, so I was wondering if you ever ran in the adizero LT, and could say whether the more substantial heel in the adios changed the fit characteristics at all? If so, was it a positive or negative change?

I have run in both shoes. I had the LT for a few weeks and hated it. Way too much heel, in my opinion.
The Adios seems a tiny bit better - a little less heel - and that does go a long way toward making me likeit, but it does feel like basically the same shoe.
Hey SDJ - I’m not sure if you are still around, but I have another adidas question. I live in Canada, and noticed a shoe in one of our local retailers that I can’t seem to get any info on. It’s the Adidas Adizero Breeze. The only hits on google are in singapore and a Canadian retailer.
Is this different name of another shoe for marketing/legal reasons?
If anyone else has info, it would be appreciated, as these are pretty cheap and I wouldn’t mind giving them a try.
Bonesbrigade
A good name for a punk band. I’m sure I’m not the first to say it.
The adizero Breeze was a special project done for Japan in 2007. Essentially they wanted a training shoe that was a step down from the CS. In 2008 a few other countries, Germanyand Canada picked it up. In Canada they did 3-4 colors with different colored midsoles etc. A training shoe in Japan is not a training shoe anywhere else. Becaue of their running style they love low profile light shoes. For westerners that usually means a fast day or race day shoe. The Breeze falls into that category. It’s called the Breeze because it’s got a very open mesh upper and large cut outs in the tooling. You’ll get lots of air flow or water drainage in the shoe. I say try it on. If it fits good and feels good and the price is right, buy it. One thing to note, don’t get hooked on it. You probably won’t be able to buy a second or third pair. Once their gone, their gone. We’ve cleaned up the adizero line. We now do no shoes under $80 and have one global range. No special projects.
I hope this helps.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the info.
Yeah, the name comes from an old skateboard reference - it would be a cool punk band name for sure.
I might give them a try, and if I like them buy them I’ll buy what they have. Am I to assume they are a neutral shoe? BTW, I really like the Ace - they are my new race shoe for all distances (except 5k and under).
Yes, they are neutral.
Thanks for the feedback on the Ace. I’ll pass that along to the adizero team.
I bought a pair of adios a few months back and they’ve been my favorite shoe I’ve ever run in. However they’re getting a little worn out and I was going to buy some new ones off adidas.com but they’re no longer listed in the shopadidas section. Further digging found that other online retailers weren’t selling them anymore either. What’s up? I love these shoes and would like to get some more but…are they getting discontinued? Most other places have been carrying the ace but not the adios and I’m worried the ace is replacing the adios. Say it ain’t so!
Everyone (retailers - shop adidas) underbought the adios. That’s both a good thing and a bad thing. Good because Demand is high. Bad because you can’t find them. I’ll pass your note along to the planning folks in the USA and see if we can’t get more pairs into the market.
No, the Ace is not replacing the adios. That adios you love is good through 2010 before it gets updated.
Found the retailer with the most inventory. They were smart when they saw the adizero line last fall and booked heavy.
Next time you do Wildflower check out their store.
Quick question from Australia, I’ve have spent a few months in my first ever pair of Adidas Supernova Glide, very nice shoe, now with our tri season coming around I’m thinking about race shoes for the up coming HIM and IM’s, just ducked into the Sydney Adidas store and looked a two shoes, the Adizero Adios and the Adizero Aegis. Can’t seem to find enough info on the net for a comparison between the two and unfortunately could only try the Aegis on for size. If someone could please help out with a quick comparison, weight cushioning, fit appropriateness for IM that would be great…
Cheers,
Nathan
The Adios information is on the thread.
The Aegis is a new concept. Stability through geometry rather than the standard dual-density posting. It has one of the most unique rides in the line up from adidas. It’s firm in feel like the past but you only notice it on the first run. Mostly because all the other shoes are on the soft side. The stability side works really well. Your foot glides through transition. It holds up over long term testing. I think if you ran in adidas years ago for the go fast feel this is definetly a shoe to look to. One drawback is the tongue. It’s one piece with the upper and rolls over from the medial side. Some runners can feel a slight pinch at the top of their foot.
All that said, I’d still go with the adios. It compliments that Glide you are wearing and is just plain one of the best racing shoes on the planet right now.

Really appreciate the advice, Thanks.
Hi SDJ
I wanted some assistance with sizing for the rocket. I am a US size 10 in the tempo and the pro, but a 10.5 in the LT. What would the rocket be most similar to? i cant try them on as i have to order online. Where does the rocket fit in with pro, adios and ace?
Thanks
That’s a good question. The sample sizes all fit the same. With the LT, the design is a bit tighter which probably caused that 1/2 size difference. I’d stick with the 10 on the Rocet. It’s a take down design from the adios and should fit more like your other adidas flats/lightweight trainers.
