Adding Resistance to Rollers

I train almost exclusiely on rollers, the el cheapo travel trac set. To add resistance, I’ve been letting letting the air out of my tires until about 30 psi.

I’m wondering if I could buy the minoura resistance unit for rollers (not sure if theyre compatible), or if there is some universal roller resistance device out there I could use.

I would highly reccomend you get a pair of kreitlers…

loosen the nut on the front roller and take a look. If you can fit an addition 2.5 mm or so on the axle threads, the Kreitler Killer Headwind unit will fit on there.

If so, I’d go that route, unless you live in an apartment and noise is an issue. It eliminates the need for a fan, and you’ll never run out of resistance.

Yes Definitely get ‘Kreitler Rollers’ I ride on a Full Aluminium roller 4.5 absolute quality rollers a bit pricey I paid around £300 for a set but well worth the money…!

There is a universal roller resistance device. Go to a carpet store (or the local dumpster) and get a small rug remnant, place under rear rollers. Prepare to shift to your smallest gear.
