This question is for the ladies. Freind of mine is struggling with saddles. She has tons of pressure on the “front” of her area if you know what i mean.
We have tried gel saddles, different saddle tilts, and still have no luck.
She has been looking at the Adamo saddle because it has the split seat and also the width.
Your thoughts?
I have had a couple of women that did like the saddle. The saddle is definitely worth a try. The ride has cured many saddle fit issues.
The Adamo has been working well for women, several top women Pros are racing Ironman to ITU distances and bunches of age Groupers are racing all the distances. If she rides alot and primarily on her aerobars then the racing seat might work, the road seat is cut more narrow at the base of the nose and that is the one I would suggest. 100% money back guarantee for 30 days to test it out. It is important that the rider sit “forward” on the saddle, the biggest initial gripe is that it feels too wide and that is almost always caused by sitting to far back. Start with the nose are level. It is also common for women and men to call in and say that the sit bone area is not wide enough. This seat design is not like sitting on some huge tractor seat. I find it very common for the sit bones to feel like they are just barely off the sides of the saddle when you first get on the saddle. After you ride 5 -10 miles it seems to support everything very well, it probably will not feel correct on a “parking lot test ride”. Another option is the Blackwell Flow saddle, this is a longtime favorite of lot’s of women. On the Flow saddle, you need to run the nose about 1cm higher than the back of the saddle, it really will take Pubic bone pressure away.
I believe this is Laura Bennett’s set-up with an Adamo:

Happy to hear of someone else with the same issue.
As my mileage has increased, so has this “forward” pain issue- UGH, what misery. The current (and temporary) remedy was to tilt my current saddle down about 30 degrees which elimates the pain* but causes a whole new set of problems. (None that involve the delicate parts though!) I’m anxious to get a new saddle but don’t want to drop the $$$ without feedback from others with similar issues…
*Just to clarify, this is a combo of bone pain (presumably pelvic) and soft tissue.
my gf has gone through a myriad of saddles; right now the Serfas Cassina fits the bill. Doesn’t sound like the wonderticket, but the front is a lot more comfortable than her fizik vitesse from what she says. She HATED the Specialized Jett. Great on the sensitive spots but her sit bones were sore as hell. Go figure. (its for sale if you’re interested
