Looking for an alternative to my adamo podium. It has been good to me but I can’t seem to get positioned far enough back on my road bike even with it slammed all the way back on the rails. Originally switched from a more traditional saddle due to numbness and would like to prevent it from coming back. I’m 6’ and riding a 56 tarmac and feel as though I’m at the brink of needing a 58 which is causing the issue.
Thanks for any suggestions
I own an old Blackwell (Cobb) Flow (predecessor of the current Cobb saddles). It was sitting in my garage and I tried it on my road bike the last 2 rides. I have to slam it all the way forward to sit right. So this might work for you. I’m thinking about the Plus, so that I don’t have to slam it so far forward and to make it easier to roll forward. Now that I know that I’m supposed to sit with my sit bones just over the back, it is much better. He has a generous return policy.
I use an Adamo on my tri bike.
I use a Selle SMP saddle for the road bike and a Specialized Body Geometry for the commuter. The Specialized is best in a more upright position, and the SMP works better when in a lower racing position. Both saddles have noses, but the SMP’s angles down slightly. I use the Adamo on my tri bike, and the combo of these saddle choices has relieved my numbing issues. I haven’t tried Cobb’s new products yet.
Selle SMP Strike.

did I say that already? Selle SMP.
have one on both my road bike and my tri bike, would NEVER use anything else. seat is AWESOME!
Depends how much you are willing to spend. Dash Cycles have an amazing saddle that they just released called the tri.7! it’s similar to the Adamo but nearly 2X more than a Adamo. Within the next month they will be releasing a UCI legal version of the saddle and also a narrow version of the saddle. I’m going to try out the standard Tri.7 and go from there. If you go to Tririg.com Nick has a good review on the new Dash saddle.

4 words: Selle San Marco Mantra
I have been through many road bike saddles (including an Adamo Breakaway) and the Mantra is the best seat I have found for eliminating numbness while not feeling like you’re sitting on a wide platform. I have the carbon FX version on my Cdale Super Six.

I took a gamble and ordered one. Highly recommend it.

I’m 6’1" and ride a 58. The 56 frame might be your main issue right there. But the Mantra seat would be an improvement from your ISM.
Cobb Cycling V-Flow Max is my saddle, and I love it!
I didnt notice anyone stating that the OP should just go to a LBS and ask to demo one till he finds a saddle he likes. I cant say most bike shops do this, but good one who want to make a sale do. Of course, the demo ones have been used alot.
Good luck in finding a saddle.
