Acupuncture

anybody ever try it? legit or poo?

ive got some nagging tendinitis on the inside part of my right knee, under the knee cap. dont think its patellar tendinitis. feels like somethings rubbing. HELPPPppppppPPPPPPpppppPPPP!!!

it worked for my allergies, but not for any real injuries I’ve had

your pain sounds like it may be caused from incorrect patella femoral tracking which is a biomechanical problem acupuncture cannot resolve, it may help to treat the symptoms, but not the cause

Depends on how you look at it. Maybe the “incorrect patella femoral tracking” is due to an emotion he is holding on to. I’ve had acunpuncture as well, though only twice as I can’t afford it, and the first treatment was quite sensational. The lady and I connected pretty well mentally as we talked for about 15 minutes. Then I laid down, relaxed for a few moments and she stuck the needles where she saw fit based on our talking, an examination of my tongue, and observation on my physical presence. Several on the right side and several were on the left. Then she left the room for about 10 minutes. While she was gone, I was having a hell of a time. You see, something got released and I absolutely could not stop laughing. Normally, you’d be stoked to be cracking up, overcome with some type of unexplainable joy, but I had needles in my body and it hurt if I twitched my muscles. Once she took them out I was laughing so loud I was seriously embarrassed. Embarrassed to be laughing, pretty weird when you think about that. Anyway, she said it was normal, some people laugh hysterically, some people cry hysterically, some people have no emotional reaction at all, but everybody open to it can have their energy channeled in a more focused direction.

I wish I knew, but for some kinds of chronic pain or injury it really seems to help. Is it all some complex placebo??? If it works, who cares.

I tried two “treatments” for shinspints and shoulder pain. I had no emotional experience whatsoever and didn’t feel one bit better when I was done. In fairness though, I’m not a real emotional guy to start with.

I went from being a total acupuncture sceptic to raving believer/advocate in the space of a single visit.

Works for me, and helped with very serious knee and back problems when nothing else did.

I get acupuncture with electronic stimulation before I get ART. My therapist claims that she can dig way deeper in to the muscle after the acupuncture and break up more of the adhesion and scar tissues. I’ve had a chronic problem with my calves. I’ve used ART and massage in the past. It seems I got healthier quicker and have remained healthy even during peak marathon mileage. No laughing or bursting into tears though.
