Just wondering what people do on their rest days?
Totally nothing? Easy short run, easy short ride? What about some other cross training activity at low intensity?
How much low intensity in another sport (say a little easy skating, snowshoeing, rock climbing, etc.) counts as over doing it for “active recovery”?
commute - and have a Woodpecker.
Winter: xc ski, snowboarding, ice skating.
Summer: rollerblading, tennis, basketball, golf (no cart, ya gotta walk the course), hiking.
All year: easy swim, easy ride, light weights, yoga, core session, walking. I don’t like to run on rest days.
My 2 faves: sit on couch with movie OR play with daughter (usually me chasing her around the house or the park).
Before this year, I took easy days completely off.
As I’ve gotten more fit, I find that I enjoy a 30-minute EZ run on easy days, or even on days when I wake up feeling too tired to do much of anything. By evening, I usually feel better and have a quickie run.
Rest Days. I think I have heard of those though I don’t know if I’ve seen one in the last few years. Is that where you get to relax and lay around in your free time?
oh I love woodpecker! one of my favorite drinks–and favorite birds!!
I generally take it all the way off. Or just walk, hike something like that. or, cook all day and night (and drinks lots of wine while doing so
We should grab one sometime
Would I be lucky enought ot find you in Minnesota?

I do a lot of things on rest days, ranging from having a hangover to going windsurfing and scuba diving.
What I don’t do is swim, bike, or run (unless I’m running around with an attractive brunette).
