I know they have been bashed here before on a regular basis, but I think they deserve another round. I have been trying to sign up for silverman for the past hour and keep getting timeouts, errors on input and just a general frustration.
You would think with all that money they could get a stable ISP. Frus…trat…ing!
I’ve never had any trouble with active.com, I just sign on, register, print my receipt and go on with my day.

Quite sure. I work at a University and have a direct connection to the outside router. I can connect myself directly to the router and get a gigabit connection.
It’s nice to be in a research area sometimes.

I had a bad experience with 'em yesterday as well.
Signing up for the state tt champs on saturday, and when I had put my credit card information in and hit the send button it led me to a page that said there was an error. That is always the worst because then you wonder if the transaction went through or not. So, I checked the FAQ’s on the site and it says “how to tell if your registration was successful” (or something close to that) and per their explanation my registration was obviously not successful. So, I did it again, and this time it says “Congratulations Joseph, you have registered blah blah blah”. Then later in the day when checking my email I see they’ve charged me twice. So I try calling, waited on hold for 13 minutes and finally gave up, hitting 1 which would let me leave a voice mail. Havn’t heard back from them yet.
Lovely, just what I want to hear before signing up for Silverman.
