When I registered for my last race on active.com I was offered a free trial active.com membership. I just accepted it without reading the fine print.

I just cancelled my credit card.
You could have just canceled the subscription. Every free trial since the big bang ends with automatic enrollment. Welcome to the universe.
Why didn’t you just cancel with active?
Well if it is any consolation, I signed up for a race with them. Then canceled my account. They charged me anyway, so I contacted them with my cancellation confirmation and they promptly refunded me. But they made the mistake of processing the refund 3 times. So I got an extra $100 out of them. I figured if they asked for it back in a reasonable amount of time, I would be happy to give it back. That was 4 or 5 years ago now. There is no way I would ever give back the money at this point.

Yep, thats how every free trial ends. Been happening for over 10 years id imagine, maybe way longer.
